The Quaternary drilling in Riniken started on March 5th, 2018. This is the first borehole of a series that will be performed by Nagra in other regions of Switzerland.
We collected samples for noble-gas analysis in the sediment pore water within the frame of a pilot project aiming to assess the performance of the He-U/Th dating method. A few impressions of the fieldwork can be found below.
